Winter Remix Week 3

Winter Remix Week 3

Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s already week 3 of the remix? Only one more to go!

Are you staying inspired? Wanting to burn your pieces? Casting lingering glances toward the rest of your wardrobe?

I’m ready to finish strong, but am absolutely looking forward to shopping the rest of my closet.

It’s been fa-ree-zing around these parts so I’m still scorning my skirt and dress for body temperature’s sake. I’ll include a few bonus looks with those next week. Texas, whereforeart thou warm temperatures? Please come back to me!

I also confess my 365 days of remixing on Instagram has been worse than poor. I’m having trouble getting images uploaded. It keeps shutting down on me. And with the busyness of getting outfit photos each day for the capsule remix, I haven’t spent too much time trying to figure it out. I pinky promise it will get better. After all, one way or another, you’re getting a glimpse into every day’s outfits this month, right?

Phew. Apparently I am extra chatty with an extra cup of coffee. I’ll zip it and get on with the remix. Week 3, ladies and gentlemen!

Greater Than Rubies I Week 3 Remix

This scarf was a Christmas gift and I l.o.v.e. it. It’s inspired me to wear red and maroon together and it even has a tiny stripe of purple that matches my winter coat.

This was T’s fave of the week. It might just be mine, too. I love the lady-like blouse with a punch of color and the masculine riding boots.

Confession time: I’ve totally worn this combo (or a very close version of it) multiple times through this remix. When I need to run out the door quickly,
I know it works, so I grab it and go.

I’m a neutral mix-a-holic. Finding ways to make white, gray, black, and brown go together in one outfit is my jam. {Although strawberry goes better with toast.}

I love adding a sparkly statement necklace to an otherwise classic outfit.
It gives an unexpected twist.

This sweater makes me feel happy. A little silly, but it’s just so bright I reach for it if the skies are gray and I want to feel like they’re sunny.

Not going to lie- I froze my patooty off with this one, but I love it. Finding prints that go with multiple completer pieces gives you so much remixing power you’ll feel like a Power Ranger. {I call being the Pink Ranger. She’s the coolest.}

My office is super laid back, but I like to pair my navy blazer and dark wash jeans for an “almost feels like a suit” ensemble. Dressing the part makes me more productive-
something important since I work from home most days.

Now link up below! {Sorry that sounded a little bossy. Pretty please with sugar on top!} I’m so excited to see your looks.

Have a great weekend, mah dears!

    9 + 8 + 8 = 25. Today is January 24th. How do you have an extra look? ;P

    #s 3 & 7 are my favorites! I’ll be linking up soon!

Sometimes I wear more than one outfit in a day :) So I shared it! I can’t remember which one it was…

      • Selah January 24, 2014 at 1:44 PM

That’s what I figured. :) I do that too, but the 2nd outfit is usually along the lines of taking off my skirt and wearing just leggings and a button-down. I don’t wear that out of the house, so I’m not posting it on the internet. :P

Lol! Yes, mine is too, but sometimes Troy will get home and surprise me with a spur of the moment date so I’ll grab something comfier.

The first two are my favorites. Actually, I could pretty much copy the second one with pieces from my remix! Yay! And that scarf in the first look is awesome.

Oo yay! Love when you can copy a look with what you’ve already got.

So impressed with all y’all who take outfit shots every day for this.

    • Caitlin Author January 25, 2014 at 7:56 AM

My time saver is to take them all in one day. Easy peasy!

  • Carrie January 24, 2014 at 8:53 PM

They are all lovely! I think my two favorites are #1 – I adore that you buttoned up the cardigan and used a scarf to make it look like a pullover. (I typically forget that I can do that with a cardigan). #5 was just so classic. I loved the blue with the hint of plaid and the statement necklace. Both outfits looked really dressy and classic, yet easy to wear.

    • Selah January 24, 2014 at 9:12 PM

I didn’t even notice that #1 is a cardigan! That gives me more ideas. :)

    • Caitlin Author January 25, 2014 at 7:57 AM

Thanks, Carrie! I felt like that was a tiny stroke of closet genius, and am totally copying the look with my red cardigan today.

Outfits 1 + 3 are my faves. Great looks!

Thanks so much, Lisa! Hope you’re having a great week!
