What is enough?

Enough Is

I’ve been wrestling for a while with the question of ‘enough.’ What is enough in time spent on x, y, or z? What is ‘enough’ when it comes to my closet? What is ‘enough’ food in our pantry?

I’ve come to realize that if I don’t intentionally answer that question, it is dictated by the culture. Which screams (yet never grows hoarse- only louder) “You need that!” “That is not enough!” “More. More. More!” about any and everything.

It.is.exhausting.

For the next several Greater posts, we’ll focus on curating a few key areas: clothing, time, food, money, and home. Is there another area you think we should put under the microscope?

Maybe this falls under time, but entertainment is a big one for me – I spend a lot of time in front of a screen of some sort (obviously, since I’m commenting on a blog ;P ).

I love this idea! I’m excited to read! Maybe add extraneous entertainment which could include (not limited too) stuff we think we need but don’t actually (usually). Like another electronic device, going to movies/sports games/shows/musicals, getting primped, etc. How much is too much of all of that?

Ahh, yes! I have been grappling with this question, in particular, when it is related to clothing lately. I think I’m going to go on a spending freeze for awhile, actually. Another topic might be work. We all try to do our best at work but at what point do you need to set work aside to enjoy life? Can you ever get enough done?

How about activities? Many are very worthwhile, but are we over-extending ourselves and not leaving time for the people and work that God has ordained for us?

LOVE all of these ideas! Writing these Greater posts is much more time consuming than I anticipated, but they’re on their way. I plan to include a lot of ideas that y’all shared here. So excited to consider these things together! Have a great week, ladies!
