Watch Out, Bill Nye, There’s a New Scientist in Town

DIY cleaners

I’ve been using a couple of DIY cleaning products for the last year, like all-purpose, soap scum, and electronic cleaners.

They work amazingly well and cost pennies on the dollar compared to buying store brands. Plus, I know exactly what’s in my home and I have all of the ingredients on hand.

This weekend, when my all-purpose cleaner ran out, I decided to make a few additional cleaners.


  • Clearance spray bottles {Target}
  • Martha Stewart labels & chalk
  • Bleach
  • Detergent
  • Dish soap
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Vinegar
  • Cornstarch

I fashioned a makeshift lab coat and scrounged up T’s science lab goggles to feel the part. {You can call me Caitlin Marie, the Science Girly.}

A cautionary reminder: be very careful never to mix bleach and ammonia.
