thoughts on style and loving God

if i’m honest, sometimes i feel weird about dressing nicely. and by weird, i mean guilty. like it’s not possible to love God and be stylish. i don’t think that’s true, but i do think it’s important to check my heart and motives in the style department, because it’s been something that i’ve put too much importance on in the past. i also think it’s always important to dress modestly.

two blogs i think you’ll like that talk about this type of thing:

  • wonderfully made. in this post, i loved reading about alexandra’s thoughts on style, loving fashion and following God- and spring trends!)
  • clothed much. elaine and the bloggers she features are always modestly dressed- and fashionable! i love reading their tips. recently, she’s been doing posts that feature multiple ways to wear an item. i must admit that type of thing is a little like chocolate chip cookie dough to me- i can’t get enough!

Ahhh, I love any classic look with a good blazer and skinny jeans. And I definitely feel you on the loving God and dressing nicely thing. Part of me starting a blog was to explore the barriers that I feel in that area with God. It’s been a good journey so far—hard and ugly a lot of the time, but that’s part of the process of being refined and purified.
