the best date ever

troy took me on quite possibly the best surprise date ever last week.

my bff moved to nashville recently, and when troy found out he had a business trip there, he arranged for me to go with him for a couple of days!

we got to fly out on his company’s jet {what?! i felt like a movie star. and alas, normal travel will never be the same again.}

the coolest flight everrrrrrr!

while everyone worked, i explored the gaylord opryland, which is absolutely breathtaking {and gargantuan}, ate some ice cream for lunch {don’t pretend you don’t do that on vacation, too!}, and went to the spa. {troy had arranged a massage for me- not for christmas, not for my birthday, but because i am so supportive of him and take care of things around the house. i mean really, he is the sweetest.}

the gaylord

{no, your eyes do not deceive you. there are rivers and boats inside the hotel. insane, right?!}

that night, kels picked me up for dinner and we got to catch up before the boys met up with us.

{we love our mexican food!}

the next day i got to sleep in, do a little shopping {it was a gigantic and gorgeous outlet mall and i bought nothing. {nothing!} i think i really did learn some things.} before meeting up with troy’s party for a delicious southern meal and a flight back home to reality.

that sweet man sure does know how to surprise a girl!

what was your best date ever?

    What a sweet surprise! Hmmm…I wonder when Chris will get to take the jet…

    Oh, I love the Opryland hotel! I’ve never gotten to stay there but I’ve gotten to explore the public sections several times. It’s sooo cool!
    I’d say one of our best dates was on our 3rd anniversary trip to Charleston, SC. We sat in the bar of the High Cotton having dessert and drinks and listening to a fantastic jazz trio.
    More recently, my husband agreed to watch the first episode if Downton Abbey with me and he got hooked! So now we have a “date” every Sunday night to watch Season 3 on PBS. :)

      Ooo jazz. So romantic!

      Y’all are adorable! I’m counting down the days until Season 2 is on Netflix. I watched all the way through Season 1 in a weekend though, so I’ll have to pace myself this time!

        I’ve heard that season 2 is on Hulu. It might be worth the $8 for a month just to see that. :)

          Ooo…hmm. It might. I’m going to have to think about this.

      Also, have you seen Gosford Park? It’s like Downton Abbey + murder mystery. It’s by the same writer and has Maggie Smith. It’s in Netflix. I highly recommend it! You might want to use captioning or watch it twice – some of the accents are strong. :)

        You just rocked my world. I can’t wait to start it. YAY! (Have I mentioned how much I love that we have the same taste in tv/shows? It’s amazing.)
