Summer Remix Week 4 Link Up

Summer Remix Week 4 Link Up

Greater Than Rubies

Only a few days of the Summer Remix left!

I’m drooling over the rest of my closet, but I still have tons of outfit ideas floating around in my head. I’ll share a few of those and the list of the rest in my recap next week, but here are week 4’s looks:

Monday: Look 24

Greater Than Rubies

Greater Than Rubies

This is one of T’s favorites. I could’ve just as easily dressed the look up with wedges and a statement necklace, but I worked from home Monday and wanted a more casual vibe.

Tuesday: Look 25

Greater Than Rubies

With the floral wedges, this was the perfect date night look. For the office (we have a super casual dress code most days), I just subbed in a pair of ballet flats.

Wednesday: Look 26

Greater Than Rubies

It’s been getting hot, hot, HOT here, with lots of humidity from the rain. I opted for my lace detail tank and black bermudas to create a long, lean body line, and then added a pop of color with the cardigan. I seriously can’t stop wearing these wedges…I’m a little worried it’s getting to the point they’re going to have to surgically remove them. #worthit

Thursday: Look 27

I just love classic pieces. You can wear and rewear them and tweaking the accessories
changes up the look completely.

Friday: Look 28

Greater Than Rubies

Greater Than Rubies

We’ve had lots of extra days in the office this month and I didn’t give myself a lot of office-wear options, but I’ve still been able to make it work. I never fail to be amazed at just how many outfits
a few pieces can make.

For those of you remixing, how was your last week? Weigh in on how you’re feeling and share your looks with us!

I had some opportunities to dress up a bit (date night, family outing to the local community theatre, an actual church service where I didn’t have to help with the kids), so that was cool. I have a few pieces that I’ve grossly under-utilized and some I’ve worked to death. Funny thing though – I’m not really missing my other clothes that much!
    Great looks this week!

    • Iris July 28, 2014 at 12:47 PM

That’s so awesome, Selah! I’m so with you about the under utilizing and over utilizing. That just tells me what pieces I need to invest in and/or what pieces I should get in another color. :) And it’s not that I’ve been missing my other clothes either…I’m missing the other pieces I own that are similar but another color. For example, a different color cardigan, jeans, tee or tank. And I’m realizing I like color. Haha!

That’s funny. It’s so good that you’re learning so much about your closet! Excited to see your looks from this week!

    • Caitlin Author July 29, 2014 at 7:24 AM

That’s great, Selah! I’m excited to get a look at this week’s looks! Thinking of and praying for you and your sweet family!

Must be nice to look drop-dead gorgeous like you, even in skinny jeans!!! :)

Caitlin, this challenge has been so fun…and as always for me, eye-opening! Thank you for hosting and for always being an encouragement. I absolutely love your outfits and will be recreating them! Please keep posting regular outfit pictures for inspiration! Although, I also love that you always do posts on “how-to” so we can also learn how to remix for our own lifestyle. I appreciate your heart and willingness to serve!

    • Caitlin Author July 29, 2014 at 7:27 AM

Aww, thanks for your sweet words, Iris! I will be posting more daily outfits mixed in with how to’s ;) especially as the challenge ends. So glad you participated! It’s so fun to see everyone’s creativity and hear what they’re learning!

I think you stated it well. I’m drooling over the rest of my closet! Love those floral wedges! Where are they from?

    • Caitlin Author July 29, 2014 at 7:32 AM

Thanks, Becky! They were actually a hand me down from a friend…I’m not sure where she got them, but the brand is Material Girl. Hope that helps!

  • Amy G July 28, 2014 at 2:20 PM

Yep, I also drooling but still have ideas. It is amazing how many outfits our pieces can make! I think my favorite of yours this week is Tuesday’s look with the blush tank and white jeans. Lovely!

  • ADA July 28, 2014 at 5:49 PM

I agree that the best part about doing these remix challenges, is getting a hold of the rest of your closet afterwards. But you rocked this challenge. Those first 2 Outfits with the white jeans are such classic ones. I am looking forward to doing another 30 for 30 remix (including shoes) in September. And as always a pleasure linking up, Cailtin. =)

  • Nicole July 30, 2014 at 1:41 PM

I’ve never tried a remix challenge but I can imagine how creative you get. All of these outfits are great, but the first two are my favorites!

Thanks for your sweet words, Jessi. So glad you stopped by! He is pretty cute although I know I’m biased :) Hope you have a great day!

  • Kristin July 30, 2014 at 11:00 PM

I want to live in every single look! Obsessed with Thursday!

    • Caitlin Author July 31, 2014 at 8:36 AM

Thanks so much, Kristin! It was one of my favorites, too :) Have a great rest of the week!

  • Alex July 31, 2014 at 1:14 AM

This is such a great idea! I think even if you only do it once, for one month, it helps you train yourself to be able to mentally create more outfits from the things you already have and curb the feeling of “blah I ain’t got nothin to wear” or getting stuck in a rut of always the same, always the same.

You’re absolutely right! I’ll be running a fall remix as well…probably in October if you want to join in!

  • Rebecca H August 2, 2014 at 11:39 PM

That first outfit is so perfect! Such an easy, breezy summer look.

    • Caitlin Author August 5, 2014 at 7:28 AM

      Thanks, Rebecca! :)
