sometimes i feel like a guinea pig

bad to the bone

so i watched this video on monday.

in it, one of ramit’s challenges is to eliminate all of your productivity tools- even going as far as to use only pen and paper for a week. his point is improving the fundamentals will lead to greater change and productivity than utilizing all the latest apps or hacks.

i wasn’t going to follow through on that specific suggestion, but then my e-mail quit sending and receiving, evernote froze on me, and i added a couple of really important things to my google calendar when i wasn’t logged in, meaning they didn’t save and i’m racking my brain trying to remember them.

it’s just been one of those weeks.

the interesting thing is, i’ve been more productive than ever…

obviously i can’t function without e-mail forever and evernote and my calendar are great tools that i’m {probably} not going to give up. but i can’t deny the fact that focusing on what i was doing without those distractions made a big difference.

so i’m going to test out each one of ramit’s theories and maybe a few of my own and let you know what i discover. {sometimes i feel like a guinea pig. at least i don’t look like one.*}

*if you think i do look like a guinea pig, please don’t tell me. or at least tell me i’m a really, really cute one. that will soften the blow.

ps did you see my guest post over at sarah’s this week? my sweet friend is doing a challenge of her own this year! hop on over and check out her adorable blog, tucker up.

pps linking up at the pleated poppy for what i wore wednesday!

    So, did you have a wind machine for the second picture?
    You do not look like a guinea pig.

      He’s pretty brilliant. Sometimes he drives me crazy but I love that his content pushes me out of my comfort zone.
