{Remix Rewear Restyle Link Up} Red & Green

{Remix Rewear Restyle Link Up} Red & Green

Happy Monday, remixinistas!

If you’re new, Remix Rewear Restyle is a weekly challenge to remix, rewear, or restyle your closet. It’s a lot more fun to experiment with stepping out of your comfort zone and clothing ruts when you do it with a friend. Don’t worry about being right or wrong- there aren’t any rules except to include a piece that fits the challenge. So go shop that closet and link up your look!

Red and green can be taboo when it comes to outfit color combos, but in my opinion, it’s a totally valid pairing- especially during the holidays.

For year round wear, pair variations of the color combo to keep from looking like you stepped out of a holiday movie. {What is your all-time favorite Christmas movie? Mine is Elf, hands down.}

For example…

red orange + mint

#remixrewearrestyle red + green variation

#remixrewearrestyle red + green variation

or olive + red or burgundy

or evergreen + salmon

or a print that mixes both paired with a neutral.

How do you style your red and green hues? Link up a look below!

#remixrewearrestyle

Coming up:

12.16 winter layers
12.30 shimmer & sparkle for day

 …

I actually have a couple of red & green outfits planned, so I’ll be linking a little later this week. :)
Elf is one of my family’s favorites too, but my personal, all-time favorite is White Christmas! I love a good musical, and as a dance major, who studied dance history, the “Choreography” dance number absolutely cracks me up.

I can’t wait to see them! That is a good one, too. I think I saw it on Netflix. I might have to watch it this weekend! I heart Christmas movies.

Hi Caitlin! I love your blog — found it today via Pinterest and I have loved reading through it! I’m working on behalf of a really fun fashion client and I think they’d be a great fit for your blog — I’d love to discuss this opportunity with you if you’re interested! Couldn’t find your email address on your blog, feel free to drop me an email if you’d like. Hope to hear from you soon. xo N

Love this combo! Sweaters…through my challenge I have found a love for sweaters.

    • Caitlin Author December 10, 2013 at 8:01 AM

Yesssss. Me too. Yay for only a few more days for you! Woo!

  • Autumn December 9, 2013 at 2:50 PM

We just watched Elf for the first time the other day! So fun! I have hardly watched any Christmas movies in my life, but I’m on a mission to change that!

And thanks for hosting the link-up!

    • Caitlin Author December 10, 2013 at 8:04 AM

Yes. It’s my all-time favorite. I love that everyone shared their favorite, too. Now I have a few new ones to watch! Thanks so much for sharing your look, Autumn!

I LOVE Elf! I saw it two or three times in the theater when it came out (many years ago). Meet Me in St. Louis is another favorite of mine…it’s not exclusively a Christmas movie but has some great holiday scenes!

    • Selah December 9, 2013 at 9:18 PM

Oh, I LOVE Meet Me In St. Louis! You’re right, it’s not strictly a Christmas movie, but it’s a fabulous musical.

    • Caitlin Author December 10, 2013 at 8:05 AM

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that one. I’ll have to see if it’s on Netflix. Thanks for sharing your look with us, Whitney! Hope you’re staying warm out east!

      • Selah December 10, 2013 at 8:17 AM

It’s so good, Caitlin! One of Judy Garland’s best performances, and the original source of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. If Netflix doesn’t have it, try your local library.
If you want me to comment a ton, just ask a question about movies. ;P

        • Caitlin Author December 11, 2013 at 7:38 AM

You are quite the movie expert! I’ve got a big break from work coming up, so you’d better believe I’ll be hunting that one down. Thanks for the suggestion! Have a great day, sweet friend :)

  • Amy G December 9, 2013 at 9:32 PM

White Christmas and Elf are both awesome and I would love to watch either (or both) soon. Muppet Christmas Carol will probably happen first, though, for me. Mostly because Elf is hidden on my husband’s computer somewhere and I don’t own White Christmas yet!
I hope it’s ok that I posted a second bonus look. I had a picture of what I wore last week that I thought I might as well share!.

    • Selah December 9, 2013 at 9:39 PM

Caitlin is right – White Christmas is on Netflix, if you have a subscription. Muppets Christmas Carol is great – we’ve been known to watch it for “Christmas in July”. :)

      • Caitlin Author December 10, 2013 at 8:05 AM

So fun! I love that y’all do Christmas in July :)

    • Caitlin Author December 10, 2013 at 8:06 AM

Absolutely. Thanks for sharing both of them with us, Amy! Hope your week is going well :)

  • Sofia December 11, 2013 at 1:31 PM

I love coral and mint together!

    LOVE your booties!

Thanks so much, Sarah! Hope you’re having a great week :)

I’ve always loved the red orange + mint combination! :) Rust and mint/aqua look really pretty together as well.

I recently found your blog, and it has been a great inspiration. I hope to be as creative as you with a limited number of items. It’s also lovely to find another Christ follower. I’m doing a series of posts on my own blog about my capsule suitcase wardrobe for my upcoming semester abroad in France. :D I’d love if you checked it out! ^__^
