{Remix Rewear Refashion} Stripes

RRR Stripes Sized

Happy Monday, friends! Welcome to Remix Rewear Restyle, a weekly Instagram/blog remix to showcase how you style a specific item. My hope is to challenge you {as well as myself!} to remix items already in our closets and gain inspiration from others.

Stripes were in the spotlight this week. I especially love this remix because stripes are such a classic look. Adding one striped piece to your wardrobe can give you tons of remixing options.

Take, for example, this maxi dress that’s joined my closet since the challenge ended. It’s getting a whole lot of use in this Texas summer heat, and I plan to remix it right into fall with cardigans and booties.

My Looks:

{Look 1} maxi + summer hat + sparkly sandals

{Look 2} maxi + gold accessories + mustard cardi {Apparently I am tan like gold because you cannot see my rather sizeable necklace at.all. Dreams really do come true.}

{Look 3} maxi + my favorite scarf + leather gladiators

Hmm… Summer layers or polka dots!

I tried to email a photo, but it refused to send – no idea why. :(

An $8 maxi dress is a great find!

I don’t have any warm weather polka dot pieces, so I’ll vote for either of the other options. I have several sheer tops that I layer for summer. If it ends up being weekday / weekend mine will opposite of a lot of people’s. I dress up much more on the weekends than during the week. :)

Any of those sound awesome! :-D

What a fun maxi! I love it with the scarf! Wanted to make sure you saw my IG photo… Didn’t know if you could since I’m private??

Hi Autumn! I just double checked and I must not be able to see it since you’re private :( Maybe next time you can e-mail me your photo? I’d love to add you to the remix! You could also try tagging my IG (greaterthanrubies) to see if I can view it that way. We’ll just have to experiment a bit!

Polka dots is my vote but the others are fine too. This has been a fun challenge because no matter what you choose my mind starts racing with the different outfits I can put together!

Hsha, I think three of us are all wearing the same black glittery Target sandals in these pictures! They are pretty great sandals.
A couple years ago, after trying on a striped top that didn’t look good on me, I thought that stripes didn’t work for me. Over the past year, though, I’ve discovered that I was wrong. Stripes are fun, when you find ones that work for you!

Any of those options would be fun. Polka dots are my favorite, but I also like the idea of doing a two-look post. Maybe we could use one of these ideas for the week after that?

Wow, that was supposed to be “Haha”, not whatever word I typed up there.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies! Tune in next week to find out what we’ll remix next! (I seriously love these! Thanks for sending in your remixes. They inspire me to shop my closet and make it work.)

You look great! I love it all three ways. Where is the dress from?
Also, yes, fantastic tan and I love the waves in your hair. You glow girl! LOL at “Dreams Really Do Come True.”
