ode to a cardigan

cardigans. just the word makes me drool a little. if you haven’t noticed, i have a slight addiction to them.

the one in this picture has embellishment (which i forgot to have troy get a good shot of…boo) and a ribbon tie. it makes me feel instantly pulled together. there’s something about a cardigan that grounds a look in my book.

since i don’t think that two paragraphs is enough to devote to cardigans, here are a few more:

i found a new idea for a cardigan spin off today on pinterest. i think i may have to try it.

this is another look i really like and something i think i could do to spice up one of my current cardigans.

at first i wasn’t sure if i was going to “dress up” or modify items during this year of remixing, but i think that’s part of learning to love what you have.

on a related note, kat and i decided last night that if an item falls apart*, we can replace it. for instance, her black flats are peeling off at the sole, so they probably won’t last her through the end of the year.

*the item has to fall apart legitimately. you can’t tie it behind your car and drag it through the streets or soak it in meat and give it to the dog (cheaper by the dozen anyone?).

I love cardigans toooooooooooo. But, I’m trying NOT to wear a cardigan with every outfit to make me be more creative with my clothes. I think once I exercise my non-cardigan muscles a little more, I’ll go back to wearing them more often.

That’s a great idea! It’s so easy to get in a fashion rut and wear the same items over and over again. I’ll definitely be checking your blog for inspiration so I can stretch my non-cardigan muscles, too!

I will take all of your cardigans if that will help.
