my new favorite phrase

i’ve got a new favorite phrase! reimagining. maybe if i use that instead of remixing, troy won’t make me wash my mouth out with soap (kidding).

audrey, from putting me together, has added a new feature to her blog (she’s going to teach us how to build a remixable reimagined wardrobe!) and i am all over it like mud on a hog.

i’m going to need some tips to make it through this year. i don’t think i’ve said it out loud yet, but it’s my goal to make¬†365 366 different outfits appear.

in this post, audrey shows the magic created by:

  • tucking in your shirt (i can’t believe i used to think this was an old person thing to do because now i do it constantly. although i may now qualify as old at twenty-five.)
  • belting like a fiend.
  • rolling your pants (this also helps keep them clean!)

i apologize for the profuse use of parenthesis today. i really like them and sometimes get carried away.

i’m not sorry, however about the ryhymes that i made. valentine’s day is right around the corner and i’ve got to practice for my babe.

i think i need some more practice. good thing he’ll like me anyway because my rhyming stinks like dead fish.

Caitlin! What is the Clothes Mentor? I keep seeing you post about it but I’ve never heard of it before. Am I missing out on a gem!?

Hi Laura! Yes, it’s an amazing store! The closest thing I’ve seen is a Plato’s closet. It’s a grown up version, though. They have some consignment pieces, but I think they also get some items from stores. I got both pairs of my jeans there the other month for a total of $30. In the past I’ve spent far more than that on one pair just because I’m a hard-to-find proportion.

Here’s the link to a store locator! I hope there’s one close to you!!

Thanks for the shout out, Caitlin! Such a cute outfit. I love that sweater on you. And, do you have to actually make 366 different outfits, or can you re-wear the same ones through out the year, as long as you’re not buying clothes?

Hi Audrey! You’re so welcome. I just can’t get enough of your blog :)

I want to try and make 366 different outfits, but that may mean taking a basic outfit and just accessorizing it differently…I haven’t decided yet. It probably depends on how far I can stretch my closet. But I’m also planning to borrow from Kat’s closet, so that will help!
