see that bottom bracelet? it’s very special to me. my friend lauren brought it back from her mission trip to haiti earlier this year. louna made it (the bracelet came with a tag that said ‘made in haiti by louna’ with this website on it, too.) and every time i see the bracelet i try to remember to pray for her.

when lauren got back and told me about her trip, one of the things that stuck out to me the most was her comment about how poor material-wise the people were, but how happy and full of joy they were. i love that!

“but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” matthew 6:30

to think and live with an eternal perspective in a culture that glamorizes the pursuit of attaining things is difficult…for me at least. having less may not be the cool thing to do, but i’m finding it’s awfully freeing. here’s the next 8 1/2 months!

I love your blog, especially that it contains bible verses. I used to memorize that particular passage Matthew 6:19-34

Thank you so much, Van! It’s a great passage.
