I’m Kat. Caitlin’s friend mentioned here and here (p.s. I’m still bitter about Caitlin’s necklace find). You may have seen me curled up in the fetal position in Target going through withdrawal. Just kidding of course; after reflecting on the past month of no clothes shopping, I have to admit that so far it hasn’t been so bad. I’m pretty sure if I was struggling this early on it would probably indicate some deep underlying issue (did I mention I’m going to school for a master’s in counseling?). Do I think it will always be this easy? Definitely not – there have been days that I covet a new pair of skinny pants or an embellished cardigan.
I’m so excited to be part of this endeavor. When Caitlin told me about her plan at the end of December it almost immediately struck a cord with me. I had been thinking about what it means to sacrifice for awhile before that, so this was a perfect opportunity to put sacrifice into practice. Starting in February my clothing budget will go towards Operation Mobilization Bosnia & Herzegovina. A few of the missionaries there have been a huge inspiration in my life, but that’s a story for another day.
I hope you’ll continue to follow Caitlin as she remixes her closet (and probably a few pieces from mine in the future). Be blessed!
