It’s fall, y’all!

Well, not really, but with everyone heading back to school, and Christmas decor marking its second month in Hobby Lobbys across America, here are four resources to help you navigate the transition from summer to fall as effortlessly as a pumpkin spice latte will soon find its way into my hand.

One: A super-easy tip to add a hint of fall but zero chance of heat stroke to your looks.

Add fall colors, like:

  • Olive;
  • Burgundy;
  • Mustard;
  • Charcoal gray;
  • Browns, and other earthy colors.

Into your outfit.

Pick a printed piece that includes one of the colors, or add a pop of color in an accessory, shoe, or bag. Lightweight winners:

  • Breathable fabric;
  • A belt;
  • Or earrings.

Two: The ultimate teacher’s guide to what to wear (because with school starting up, you need to spend your time and energy on making what matters happen!) Not a teacher? Share it with your teacher friends!

Three: Oodles of fall outfit inspiration.

Quite possibly my favorite Fall Capsule Wardrobe ever.

Greater Than Rubies Fall Capsule Wardrobe: 36 Fall Outfits

Plus 720 (and growing!) fall outfit ideas.

And four: My favorite vest (that always sells out before I can even get you the details!) is in stock. It’s definitely one of the most expensive pieces I’ve ever bought (this year they’re selling for $78), but I have worn mine hundreds of times and it still looks brand new.

Here are just a few of the ways I’ve worn it:

Now, even though I’ve just encouraged you to start drooling all over fall, go enjoy your summer weekend. ;)

You're a gem

    Looking forward to fall! Are you still planning on doing the summer capsule wardrobe?

    • Caitlin Author August 11, 2015 at 9:55 AM

      Yes! It’s structured differently this year…all the posts this summer have been using the outfits from my capsule wardrobe, but I have a few more surprises around it coming up, too! :)

    Great dress! I’m not one to rush fall, though. Maybe it’s different in the south, but here it seems like we haven’t had summer weather for that long yet, so I’m content to enjoy the summer season for a few more weeks. I’m getting into the mindset of “I better make sure I wear my favorite summer pieces at east one ore time this month before the weather changes”. It’s easy to look ahead with all the fall stuff coming out in store, though. I have to admit I’ve pinned a few fall things that I’m stalking so I can catch them when they go on sale.

      I love your outlook, Amy! And I hope you’re able to catch the items you’re eyeing on sale. :)

    Please give me details on that gorgeous green dress that looks like it was made for you! You look stunning.

      Thank you, Amy! It’s a Kate Spade dress I found on ridiculous sale at Nordstrom Rack a while back.
