How To Link Up

Fall is in the air! Or at least I’m trying to convince it to be.

This Friday kicks off the Fall Capsule Wardrobe Remix. Want to join in but aren’t quite sure how?

Remix Guidelines:

  • Pick 20 clothing items (For me this will be tops and bottoms. Accessories like shoes, scarves, etc. are fair game. If you want to be brave and include those items as part of your 20, go for it!)
  • Make 30 unique outfits.

Each Friday, link up with your new looks.

How to Link Up:

Via Blog

  1. Publish your post.
  2. Copy the link to your specific post (ie: http://greaterthanrubies.net/fall-capsule-wardrobe-remix-challenge/ not http://greaterthanrubies.net).
  3. On Friday, head over to the Fall Capsule Wardrobe Post and click the “Add your link” button.
  4. Paste the link into the first box, the wording you want everyone to see in the second (for example, Caitlin @ Greater Than Rubies, or maybe a great title to catch their eye), and your e-mail into the third (no one else sees that.)
  5. Hit ‘Next Step.’
  6. The images available for the thumbnail will automatically show up. Pick the one you want everyone to see.
  7. Choose whether you want to tweet or publish it to Facebook, and you’re done!
  8. If you’d like, add a link within your post to mine so your readers can see everyone else’s fall capsule wardrobes!

Via Go Chic or Go Home

  1. If you don’t have an account, request an invite and use the e-mail you receive to set that up first.
  2. Click on the ‘Upload’ tab and choose your photos.
  3. When they’ve uploaded, select a board, type, and color for the photos to finalize the upload process.
  4. Create your capsule remix! (If you upload them to a board called Fall Capsule Wardrobe Remix this piece is already done for you.)
  5. Copy the link to your specific board (ie: http://gochicorgohome.com/explore/members/14714/board/750115) and follow the directions from step 3 on in the ‘Via Blog’ section.

Via Polyvore

  1. Sign up for an account.
  2. Create your remix wardrobe.
  3. Copy the link to your specific Polyvore site, not your homepage, and link it up by following the directions from step 3 on in the ‘Via Blog’ section.

Looking forward to seeing your pieces this Friday, August 30th! (I’ll leave the link live for a while so if you need to snap photos and get set up this weekend, you can still join in the fun.)

Not sure what pieces to use? Click here for some ideas.

Hey…can I join after the baby? :) I only have a few things I can wear right now…Thanks~ Or, I can join now and remix what I have for now, and then start over after baby!

Lindsay- either way! I’m leaving the link ups open so you can fit it to whatever works best for you. So glad you’re joining in! :)

I’m super excited about this! I already have my 20 items picked-out and I hope I can get my blog post ready by Friday :) Quick question for you: we are posting several outfit pictures every Friday, right? How many outfit pictures per post are you planning to do?

Whitney, yay! Can’t wait to see your looks. I’m leaving the link up open so you can still join in if you miss the Friday deadline. Yes! I’m planning to do seven(ish). Whatever I wore that week. (Since I work from home several days it may vary.) They can all be the same number or varied; it’s totally up to you. Let me know if you still have questions!

Good! You are so welcome :)

I have been thinking of participating since you originally posted. I’ve done a couple 7×7 remixes and just wondered – are you planning to wear your 20 pieces exclusively for the month of Sept? I know sometimes people just put together the outfits and take pictures but they don’t actually wear them for 30 days in a row, so I was curious what you were planning to do. :)

Carly, great question! I am planning to wear the 20 pieces as daily outfits, yes. However, I have a couple other remix posts planned, so I’ll be using a couple of different pieces for those. They’ll be outfits I have worn in the past or plan to wear eventually, though. My personal preference is not to post anything I wouldn’t wear in day to day life. Hopefully that answers your question, and I hope you’ll join in!

Thanks so much for including Go Chic or Go Home in these posts, Caitlin! You’re doing great work with the remixing. It’s amazing how many outfits are in our closets when we actually make an effort to maximize what we have. :-)

Cynthia- of course! I haven’t had time to utilize it as much as I’d like, but Go Chic or Go Home is such a great tool! You are absolutely right. And GCOGH is a great resource for that. Love what you ladies are doing! Thanks for taking the time to drop by :)
