I have a confession to make. I kind of was a stalker once upon a time. You see, I found this blog called Kendi Everyday and I.was.obsessed.
She was hilarious and I loved her style, and I was fascinated with this idea of remixing one’s closet. I knew we were destined to be friends.
Well, long story short, not long after that, she wrote how she and her husband were moving to McKinney to open a store. OMG THAT’S WHERE WE LIVE! I could barely contain my excitement. (I know, creepy.)
When they moved in and opened their store, a few friends and I went by. (I said that so calmly. The truth is, I was literally jumping up and down with excitement.) The store was, of course, as adorable as she is, and I think I even managed to come off as a normal, non-creepy human.
A while after that, my husband’s BFF called to say he was going to propose to his girlfriend and would we help set up the proposal with her cousin Kendi?
Of Kendi Everyday?! Um, YES. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. He rolled his eyes and told me to quit being a stalker.
Since then, we’ve gotten to know the Skeens, and they are so precious. Their heart for helping women feel beautiful is more evident than ever in their new store, West and Lou. A lot of the pieces are classics with a fun twist, and I’ve had to restrain myself from buying everything in sight. If you haven’t met W&L yet, you’ve got to drop by their online store.
I still have to pinch myself that I get to be a small part of the fun things they’re doing, so I just had to introduce you in case you hadn’t already met!
So without further ado, West and Lou, friends. Friends, West and Lou. May you have years of non-creepy friendship together.
