diy fail

remember my diy black tip shoes? i am sorry to report they were an epic fail. the first time i put them on to wear the paint started cracking. insert sad face here.

i have so many outfits they would compliment perfectly (like this one) but i can’t bring myself to wear them. they just look icky.

lessons learned:

  • consider the medium and the item you’re apply it to. paint onto faux leather shoes from target? my desire for black toe shoes outweighed my common sense.
  • be willing to part with the item you’re diy-ing.
  • think outside the box. in retrospect i would have painted the tips and done a spinoff similar to this.

ps thanks to my mama for taking these pics!

pps i feel like i could be in a men in black movie with this outfit.

ppps this bracelet is my all-time favorite. i think i could wear it every day.

pppps have you ever seen a ‘ps’ with this many ‘p’s?

ppppps if anyone has a brilliant idea for how i can fix my botched diy shoes, please share!

pppppps have a great thursday!

ppppppps please blame a lack of sleep on the ridiculous amount of ‘ps’s (is that how you pluralize it? i am just going to stop typing now and quit while i am still ahead.)

Maybe you could cover the black with a wide lace and add some lace/jewels? That would let a little of the black show through but the flaws might not show…
