here are some of our favorites!

around dfw…

  • shop the antique malls at the mckinney square.
  • braum’s {sooooo delicious and great for people watching.}
  • sushi envy {it’s a conveyor belt overflowing with sushi! and mon-thurs from 5-7 is $10 a person all you can eat.}

and a few you could do anywhere…

  • cook dinner and eat it outside {we like to set up a card table on the front porch and light a candle.}
  • head to a park you haven’t explored before.
  • shop at a thrift store {we love the goodwill in mckinney!}

and because i couldn’t resist, a few great pins i found with date ideas!

    Honestly, my husband and I watch a lot of TV together. We find a show on Netflix that we’re both interested in, watch ALL of it over a few months (sometimes weeks), and completely geek out about it. Right now it’s Doctor Who. We also play European style board games together. One of my favorites is Carcassonne.

      Oo! What are some of the other shows you’ve watched? We like to do the same and I’m always interested in others’ opinions. PS Did you see Netflix added Funny Face? I remembered you mentioned it and it was so good!

        I’m so glad you liked Funny Face! I’ve read that Audrey said it was her favorite of all her films. Who wouldn’t love dressing in gorgeous clothes and dancing through Paris with Fed Astaire?
        We’ve loved Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Doctor Who (the newer one), Battlestar Gallectica (also the newer one), Mad Men, Spaced, The IT Crowd, and Downton Abbey. We’re pretty geeky. :) What do y’all watch?

          Thanks for the list! I’m going to go Instant Queue all of those! Lol :)

          We’ve watched more movies than shows together, but White Collar was our favorite so far. The Office, Everybody Loves Raymond, and AFV are a few of our other favorites. (I watched Downton Abbey and loved it. I’m really hoping they put the second season on!)

        Oh, and Firefly! How could I forget Firefly?

      • Selah January 13, 2013 at 6:04 PM

        And Sherlock. I’ll stop now. :)

  • Ashley January 10, 2013 at 5:31 PM

    Sounds like fun! Thanks for the ideas… I’ll have to check some of them out!

    • Caitlin January 13, 2013 at 4:31 PM

      You’re so welcome! Hope you’re having a great weekend, Ashley!

    Hi Caitlin!

    I’m the Emily who told you God has awesome timing and used your blog to show me what to do to help with my shopping problem last week. I also started a blog, i have been wanting to start one for a long time, & this seemed like a good jump start into it. Its not specifically to talk about the journey but it will be apart of it. I mentioned you in a post and linked back to your website, I hope that’s okay! Here’s the link to the post:

    Anyway, my husband and I are considering moving to the dfw area! We are originally from Missouri. I’m wondering if you could tell me the pros and cons of Texas! If you don’t have time I understand. But I would love to hear your moving journey because we have no idea where to start! A little intimidated by it all! Lol! All we know is we would like to be apart of The Village Church in Fort Worth. Which is not much! Tehe

    Once again thank you for blogging about your experience! I’d love to hear more about how the shopping fast changed you!

    P.S. I love your outfits! So cute!!! :-)

      Hi Emily! So funny- I came across your post right before I saw this comment. I can’t wait to read more about your journey :)

      I’d love to talk to you more about how we moved here. I’ll send you an e-mail soon because I can get a little wordy :)

      If you haven’t read through my monthly thoughts last year, they’re at the bottom of ‘the challenge’ page and talk more about the things God taught me over the last year. I’m also guest posting at a friend’s blog later this week about the challenge, so look for a link to that! If there’s anything else you want to know, don’t hesitate to ask!

      Hope you have a great night!

      PS I thought it would show me your e-mail, but it didn’t. Can you let me know what it is or e-mail me? Thanks!
