cutoffs

with long legs, it’s often hard to find shorts that make me feel like my rear end isn’t exposed to the world. so i rarely buy them. or wear them. i just like skirts and pants better.

but there are times you just need a good pair of shorts. (like when the heat index is 110.)

these babies are the result of an old pair of jeans and a pair of scissors. in my opinion, they make the perfect laid-back-day-shorts. (monday, are you getting my hint? please transform into a lay-by-the-pool kind of day. no? well, it was worth a shot.)

I have an old pair of jeans that fit great but I never wear. They are boot cut but won’t go over my fave boots and look bad tucked into boots. Plus, they have embroidery along the lower leg so they can’t be rolled up. So, I just cut them off! I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner – I did the same thing with little E’s jeans two weeks ago (she outgrew the length but not the waistband). Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, and I like your nail polish too :)

You should go to Gap / Gap outlet or J. Crew! They have tons of options for longer shorts – I had the same problem you have! Now I feel comfortable walking around with NO booty shorts :).
