before or after thanksgiving?

are you a before or after thanksgiving-er?

last night i heard that hobby lobby has christmas stuff in stores already and i was outraged.*

normally i am a staunch wait-until-thanksgiving-is-over-before-putting-out-anything-christmas supporter.

but this morning i found myself drinking from this and listening to christmas music.

is july too early?

*not really.

    LOVE the outfit! :D

On Tuesday I wore my 12 Days of Christmas charm bracelet. It’s all silver w/ clear beads so it only looks Christmasy if you look closely at the charms, but still, it’s July! I think lots of people get nostalgic for Christmas this time of year. That’s why they have those Christmas in July marathons of A Christmas Story on TV.

this is allowed ONLY as a Christmas in July celebration! but then all Christmas must be stored away until the day after Thanksgiving. {it’s a law, I’m pretty sure.} :)

If nothing else it’s a Kelsey law. :)

July is not too early!! I would keep our Christmas tree up all year if I could. Besides, lots of people celebrate Christmas in July :)

Maybe we should have a Christmas in July party…

I am definitely an after Thanksgiving person. I’m not a fan of the Christmas creep. Let each holiday have it’s time!!! I hate most when Halloween gets smothered by Christmas. Too early! haha

So true! And I love that you call it the Christmas creep. I like to celebrate all the holidays and I just think we should wait to decorate all the stores until the last one is over. Maybe we could form like a holiday police posse or something.

I found your blog a while back and I have been inspired! This has made me think long and hard about my spending habits and the spiritual ramifications of that. Through pinterest, I found this blog with a wonderful article that spoke straight to my soul, it felt like. Thought you might want to read it!

P.S. I am also in the Dallas area!

Kelsey- thank you so much for sharing! I can’t wait to read the article. I love (and hate) reading anything that will challenge me. :) Yay for Dallas friends! It’s such a fun place.

I think you should just celebrate Christmas in July this year and get it out of your system for awhile. :) We have a favorite bar that keeps a keg of a local breweries Christmas Ale to tap in July. We went last year and they even had some Christmas decorations up. So fun! haha
