baby, it’s cold outside

it’s cold in texas now. i may have been born and raised in indiana, but this {now} texan blood has thinned. i was at the grocery store yesterday in my boots, scarf, and winter coat while there were shorts and t-shirts all around me. i’m ashamed to admit the temperature for fear my northern friends will judge me. coughfiftycough.

that’s why i moved to texas, y’all! i strongly dislike cold weather. one of it’s downsides is that my lips get dry nearly every day and it keeps my lip gloss from poppin. because i love you from the bottom of my heart, i’m going to give you a little tip. lean in closer now:

if you add brushing your lip to the end of your tooth-brushing routine, it will shape that problem right up.

now go on, and enjoy your saturday, soft lips and all.

I use a damp washcloth to lightly scrub my lips after washing my face. Works great! I bet a toothbrush works just as well.

We’re supposed to get cooler weather here next week and I can’t wait! I have missed my boots.

I love your coat! I have a similar looking coat but mine is sweatshirt material – so comfy! Probably won’t last long though.

That’s a great idea, too, and seems even easier to remember.

Have you gotten a chance to wear your boots? I hope your family is safe and sound!

Yes, it finally got cold enough on Sunday! Black boots & leggings, coral skirt, and houndstooth sweater.

We’re just fine, we weren’t in Sandy’s path.

So glad to hear y’all are ok.

Yay for cold weather clothes! I love the sweaters and boots and everything like that. Mmm…fall!

Oh, and 50 is COLD. If course, I’m a Carolina girl, so can’t even imagine an Indiana winter. :)

Well, let me tell you. I live in downtown Indianapolis and I woke up to 34 degree weather. BURRR. Not five days ago did we have 80 degree weather. Its getting crazy, i’m developing whiplash from all the change. So needless to say, I wish for 50 weather.

Yikes! No fun. Hope you’re staying warm, Essence!

Great tip!!! I’m having that problem right now, so I’m going to try it!!! I live in MN though…where it’s cold half the year. So I can’t believe I haven’t tried this!! Love your coat too. Great color!!!

Thanks Shelly! You brave, brave Minnesotan soul. I think I would turn into an ice cube :) Hope you’re having a great week!

I am the same way about the cold! I’m from Ohio originally, and LOVE the warmer winter weather in Austin. But whenever I have to go back up north in the winter, I’m such a wuss about the cold. And when it finally gets cold here, too.

LOVE your coat, by the way. :)

Love Austin! Such a fun city. I’m a huge wuss, too. We were debating whether to go home to visit during Thanksgiving or Christmas, and Thanksgiving is pulling ahead simply because it won’t be as cold. (We hope!)

Anyway, I hope it’s as warm in Austin as it is here this week! Stay strong, 80’s, stay strong.

      And thank you :)
