all 11…do i remind you of someone?

could i BE wearing anymore clothes?!

i couldn’t resist.

on a more serious note…what i learned from the 11 for 30 (turned 35).

  • remixing can create an almost infinite number of outfits; it’s all in how you style the look as a whole.
  • styling the shirt (untucked, partial tuck, full tuck, knotted), belting, and accessories are the easiest way to create a unique ensemble.
  • simplifying saves time. during june, it took me all of 5 minutes a morning to get dressed. the first day i had my entire closet to choose from, i took over half an hour and ended up forcing myself out the door so i wouldn’t be late.
  • fill your closet with quality pieces that mix and match, fit well, and make you feel like a million bucks. i believe it’s better to have a few pieces you love than tons that you’re ambivalent about.

i’m taking a break from the 11 pieces for a while, but a few posts are in the works that will show how i combined pieces to make outfits. if you’re new to remixing, i’ve found the more i experiment and use pinterest, blogs, etc. to find inspiration, the better i become at it. i hope it will be something that inspires you to use pieces you already own to create new ensembles.

it felt great to push myself this past month, but amazing to have my closet back! thanks for reading along :) happy friday!!

before I even saw the caption, just the picture I thought… could you BE wearing any more clothes?!?! love you, bff :) and proud of you for doing this!!

I’m determined to purge my own closet… I like your last point about having fewer quality pieces that mix and match as opposed to tons of mediocre pieces. Definitely going to keep that in mind when I get rid of stuff!

Yay! Happy closet purging. It’s such a great feeling.

Hi! I’ve read your blog for a little while now, but never commented before. Just wanted to say that I’m a huge fan of simplicity and minimalizing materiality and this 30 day project has been lots of fun to watch. Thanks for compiling all of the outfits in this post – how inspiring to see everything in one place!

Hi Alex! Thank you so much for your encouraging words- you made my day. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Bahaha you are too cute with all the clothes. Congrats on finishing! Way to go for the gold. :)

You crack me up! I thought of Joey from friends when I saw the pics too.
Love all the outfits in one spot, thank you! I’m so proud of you!

I’ve been seeing this dress (different versions at various stores) everywhere: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=898260002&tid=onaff2687457&ap=2&siteID=onafcid89
The colors are something I would never have thought to put together but I love the combo. So, today I am wearing a coral skirt and a plum tank top, both of which I already had in my closet :) Yay for inspiration!

Thanks, Selah! You’re so sweet. And I LOVE that color combo! I may have to see what I can mix and match from my own closet now…thanks for the inspiration!

Just based on the clothes I’ve seen, I suggest the purple top from Tip Time or the purple tee from A Reminder with the red skirt you restyled on Audrey’s blog. Playing with colors is fun!

So true! I’m a huge fan of the color blocking trend and even if it goes away I’m still going to wear it. :) Thanks for the suggestions! I’m thinking of putting one together for church this morning…hope you have a great day!
