Why is it that we have overstuffed closets and we’re constantly saying we have nothing to wear?
We’ve got to reframe our thinking: we’ve got plenty to wear, we’re just not sure how to put it all together to look and feel amazing.
I’ve been practicing remixing my closet for a few years now, and I’ve found the easiest thing is to break it down to a step by step process. Look at the individual pieces first- the basic building blocks of an outfit:
- short sleeve blouse
- long sleeve blouse
- button up
Subbing these into “outfit formulas” helps you create “new” outfits from what you already have in your closet.
This one is super simple: tank + maxi + accessories: a scarf, belt, and sandals.
Because half the battle of an outfit is visualizing, so I’ve created some new pinboards for you by outfit piece:
- Tank Outfit Formulas
- Tee Outfit Formulas
- Short Sleeve Blouse Outfit Formulas
- Long Sleeve Blouse Outfit Formulas
- Button Up Outfit Formulas
- Sweater Outfit Formulas
- Cardigan Outfit Formulas
- Jacket Outfit Formulas
- Vest Outfit Formulas
- Dress Outfit Formulas
- Skirt Outfit Formulas
- Shorts Outfit Formulas
- Jeans Outfit Formulas
- Pants Outfit Formulas
Using these looks as a starting point, you can come up with TONS of new looks by subbing in pieces that you have. I’m working on some really fun ways to help my e-mail list do that over the next few months. We’d love to have you along! You can always sign up on the righthand side of the page ->.
Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
